Teekall Mair-Macfarlane is a cultural strategist, spatial designer, and founder of IVY Studios. A design consultancy and co-working space based in the historic Victorian artisan enclave of Iliffe Yard in Walworth, London. With over 20 years of experience across the design industry, Teekall’s practice is rooted primarily in commercial spatial design, complemented by a rich background in graphic design and visual communications.
Working at the intersection of commercial development, civic ambition, and creative enterprise, Teekall specializes in public art programming, creative placemaking, and community-centered urban infrastructure. Combining his extensive design background with a dedicated commitment to community-led governance, he is the former Chair of the London Community Land Trust (London CLT) and a School Governor. His work bridges the gap between local authorities, commercial developers, educational institutions, and cultural organisations. Delivering place-based regeneration, public domain renewals, and creative workforce initiatives that anchor long-term identity, value, and artist-led innovation into the built environment.
Central to Teekall’s approach is a focus on meaningful community engagement and artistic collaboration. He designs and facilitates immersive workshops that empower local residents and stakeholders to shape their surroundings, while collaborating closely with artists to co-create special, deeply connected public art pieces that authentically reflect local heritage, stories, and civic pride. Teekall continues to champion local economic and social resilience through active involvement with the Southwark Chamber of Commerce, community gardening, and neighborhood initiatives.
